Interview with Pete Ross

How did you first get in to porn?

I never intended on getting into the porn industry until my friend Bill took me to San Francisco's Folsom Street Fair with some buddies of his.

I was in a funk after a rough breakup and also due to the huge wage concessions my airline employer had imposed on us flight attendants.

Due to both of these things, my friends thought a day of fun and debauchery was in order, and they were right.

I'm not sure it was being at the fair itself or if I was just ready to explode, but I decided then and there to "audition" at one of the porn company's booths. One week later, I was filming my first scene!

At first it was just a way to express myself and to make some extra money, but after my first few movies, I wanted to see how far I could go in the industry.

I have been fortunate to have worked with the very best studios and directors out there today, and I look forward to many more projects in the future.

How many films have you done so far?

Currently, there are 18 titles that have been released so far.

Do you have a favorite film?

I have several favorites, all for different reasons. I love both Falcon titles, Cross Country and Flex, because they were so easy to make due to the wonderful attitude of director Chris Steele. Beyond Perfect from Colt was amazing also due to the director, Jerry Douglas. The All Worlds movie, Raw 2, was great due to Dan Cross and my scene partners, Scott Swann and Kevin Williams. Filming Wet Palms was overall a perfect experience with an incredible cast and crew. Wrong Side of the Tracks was fun due to the directing of Chi Chi LaRue and her very talented crew. I also have a very soft spot for Raging Stallion's Passport to Paradise. It was my first away shoot, and I feel like I bonded with most of the models in a very special way. Finally, any production that includes Moca as the photographer, Mister Pam as the videographer or Mona as the hair and makeup artist are favorites of mine just for the fact that they do such wonderful work without getting much credit. They are definitely the unsung stars of gay porn today.

How old were you the first time you had sex?

I was 17. And he was 17.

I understand that you used to work for a major airline and it fired you for doing porn. Is that true?

It's true. It might seem like a strange reason, but it couldn't be more real.

Before my involvement in porn, being a flight attendant was my life. After being investigated and terminated due to what they considered "morally objectionable behavior," I was quite devastated.

But it wasn't long before I became determined not to hide or let someone else pass judgment on me without me having a say. Since my union is 100 percent defending me and my rights to be an adult performer, I feel like I have a good chance on having my job reinstated. I have said it before, if what you do in your own free time is legal, safe and sane, and does not infringe on the rights of others, who has the right to tell you what you can and can't do in your own free time?

As a gay man, I grew up being discriminated against most of my life. In a way, I tolerated it too. But with this issue, with any issue in my life that I do not feel I have been treated fairly, I now defend myself. And that's what I and my union are doing.

My final arbitration hearing is being held in June 2006. I will keep you posted on what develops. Even if I do lose, I will be proud of the fact that I tried.

True or false? Did you really take your parents with you to the GayVNs in LA?

Absolutely!

Did they have fun?

They had a blast! Once I found out that I was nominated for best three-way, best performer and best newcomer, I called them immediately to share the news with them. And then it dawned on me that I had a unique opportunity to share my joy with them. So I surprised them with round-trip airplane tickets and an awesome suite in West Hollywood so that they could come with me. They ate, they drank, they mingled and talked to porn stars and drag queens. All in all, it was a sensory overload for them and if their schedules allow it, I'd love to have them, attend the Grabbys. While their plans are still up in the air, I did buy two platinum tickets to the event just in case.

As a side note, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for being so kind to my parents while they attended the GayVNs.

What do your parents think about you doing porn?

They said it best when they were interviewed by Sister Roma for The Tim and Roma Show. They love me, they support me and are happy that I have found something I love to do.

What movies do you have coming out this year?

I think the next movie that will be coming out is from TLA. It was filmed in and around a ski resort and is titled Winter Wood. I love that title!

Who do you still want to work with?

I would love to work with Hot House Studios, Adonis Pictures, Lucas Productions and Dark Alley Media. I have also heard great things about directors Jett Black and Joe Gage. I'd also love to do more projects with the studios I mentioned in the favorite films question. It goes without saying that I also have a long list of guys I'd like to do a scene or two with!

Have you ever slept with a fan?

I'm not sure if I have done that, but I have definitely been a fan of porn stars that I have ended up doing scenes with. Sometimes I still can't believe how lucky I am.

Will we be seeing you at the Grabbys this year?

I will be doing my best to attend this year. I had such a wonderful time last year. With all of the great events happening in Chicago during that weekend (plus all of the hot Chicago men), I'd really hate to miss all of the fun.
