Interview with Chip DanielsMarch 9, 2005 by "Big Daddy" Ferguson If you are like me, you like a man in uniform, better yet one getting out of their uniform. Of all the studios around, Centaur Films probably has covered more of this genre than just about anyone. After reviewing Wild Ranger 3, Peter Dixon had the opportunity to ask director and cofounder of Centaur Films Chip Daniels some questions about the stars and types of uniform films they've done over the years. Who hires the models for the videos? I and Jack Hazzard hire the models. We always present guys we like to one another, and if the other likes him as well, he's in. But we both have to agree the guy will work for the scene. Seems we get it right more often than not! What qualities do you look for in a porn star? Models need to have at least two of the following three qualities: a. Handsome face; b. A fit, buffed, sexy body; and, c. A sizable cock or wonderful ass (depending on top or bottom and preferably both). Actually, if a guy has all three general qualities, he goes to the head of the line! Oh! And it really helps if he loves sex, can talk convincingly masculine and has an easy going disposition. That really makes the shoots a lot more fun and go a lot faster! Is Masters the biggest star of your policing agent and uniform theme movies. Yes, but many other really big stars have stepped into uniforms for us, such as Peter Dixon, Cameron Fox, Johnny Hanson, Zachary Scott, Vince Rockland, Trey Rexx, Bo Summers, Chad Knight, Sean Storm and, of course, Chip Daniels, just to name a few. Do you know all the different types of uniforms you have featured in your films? Sure. We've featured police, fire, marines, navy, army, football, leather and cowboy uniforms in our movies so far. How many along that theme have you done altogether? We've done 30 movies along the uniform theme all together now. Which series sold best? It's a toss-up between Hot Cops 1 - 4 (yes, there's four Hot Cops movies!), and Wild Rangers 1 - 3. Most of the others are extremely close on their tail too!? By the way, Peter, you were in Hot Cops 4, also subtitled Bustin' Loose, and helped make it a huge success. Thanks and kudos! Which video sold best? The all time bestseller is still Time Cops, which is a stand-alone (so far) movie and not part of the Hot Cops series. It was the most nominated gay film of 1998 and tells the story of brothers Bob and Charlie Ford, (played by Brock Masters and Zachary Scott), two policemen on the streets of LA who get a call that changes their lives forever, getting one critically wounded and sending the other on a wild police chase that traverses space and time! You can view a free preview of Time Cops at our site, www.centaurfilms.com. The movie begins in present-time L.A., rapidly progresses back to the mid-1800s, to a frontier town and includes not only the first appearance of Brock Masters, but also 11 stunningly handsome and hung guys. All of the uniforms, whether present-day Los Angeles police department issue or mid-1800s California cowboy getup, are authentic in every detail, thanks to our great friends at Sony. And the sex is awsome! What's your favorite uniform on a man? Camoflage fatigues, black boots and a skin-tight green or black T-shirt send me over the edge every time! What other theme/genres do you like to do, hope to do or do more of? Of course, I really love doing the types of uniformed movies I've been shooting over the past 12 years and will continue to make plenty more of those, but I also plan to explore more historical uniforms in the future, such as American Civil War uniforms and Roman Legion uniforms. And last, tell us a little about the Centaur Films Florida Ranch that you mention in the DVD extra section. Are they anything like the Las Vegas ranches for girls (kid)? No, absolutely not! It's a five-acre production facility on the water in South Florida, with a studio and a back lot for filming. It's always warm, (hot in the summer, of course), and the main house also has a large swimming pool and jacuzzi. There's a boat dock for deep-water vessels, a tennis court, running track, and all five acres are beutifully landscaped and include over 200 palm trees. It's a marvelous place to work! |
